  • Alabama Shakespeare Festival, located in Montgomery, Ala., is one of the largest Shakespeare festivals in the world. The festival receives a gathering of more than 300,000 annual visitors from the United States and various foreign countries. It operates a variety of productions every year, including several works of William Shakespeare. The festival features stage works by several playwrights, such as George Bernard Shaw, Anton Chekhov, Tennessee Williams and Thornton Wilder. It also features a wide range of musical events. The festival s student matinee programs provide education to more than 36,000 students every year. It also shows an adult humanities program featuring lectures, author talks and actor discussions for providing audience with the information about plays. Alabama Shakespeare Festival conducts postgraduate degree program in fine arts to instruct students about acting, stage management and theatre administration. It provides seasonal subscription packages and group discounts to visitors making reservations for the festival.
